In 2021, despite all travel restrictions, Kārlis found a way to continue his journey around the world, and after rowing across the Pacific Ocean, he would set off across the next waters. After returning to Asia, he rowed across the Indian Ocean and then cycled more than 5,000km across Africa, arriving on April 4, 2024, at the same pier where he began his journey in 2016 - in Luderitz, Namibia.
